Helloween

No treat or trick or any costume parties for me this year
I spend my Halloween watching Horror films in the cinemas.
As a horror fan,I caught 2 horror movies recently,
The Child's eye 3D and Paranormal Activity 2 .
Since Joel and I were not did not managed to go to Rainie's concert last week,
We decided to watch the cutie in a 3D film.
For a Asian movie , the 3D effects was rather great.
There were a few scenes where the ghost "jumped' out of the scene.
However the plot of the movie was rather "lame".

Last Night,I was dragged by Shao wei to watched Paranormal Activity 2.
I did not intend to watched the show as I did not catch its prequel and my gastric pain may recurred anytime.
Somehow,he managed to convince me and I ended watching the show with him.
There were certain scenes that spooks me out
Thanks to the annoying sound effects and sudden movement of the characters.
The suspense of the show is builds up at a rather slow pace,it may bores you at times.
The ending was quite a disappointment.
PA2 is very similar to PA1 except that this time there was more cameras installed to capture the paranormal activities that was hunting the family and a baby and a dog was added to the cast of the characters.
I think the 我猜我猜我猜猜猜

謊言追追追 segment is alot scarier.

Watch it if you dare

Happy Halloween!

Whats wrong with me?

Looks like misery needs a company and it simply doesn't want to leave me.
I woke up with slight pain in my abdomen on Sunday.
I didn't pay much notice to it as I though that it was simple bloated stomach problem ,taking poh zi pills and rubbing medical oil would solve the problem.
However the pain persist as the days go by.
Despite feeling uncomfortable in my stomach and limping around with a sprained ankle ,I went ahead with the orientation drive on Wednesday.
There was something wrong with the Jeep as there was a funny noise coming out from the engine whenever I accelerate.
The vehicle commander that was guiding me told me that it was a common so I ignored the problem.
The drama begins when my Jeeps started to slow down until the engine died.
We were stuck in the middle of PIE, hogging the third lane which eventually caused a small congestion.
Despite feeling panicked and disarrayed,I went down and put up the triangular hazard sign while the V com checked the engine compartment .
We tried to crank start the jeep several times but it didn't work out ,we didn't know what was wrong with the jeep.
Soon, the EMAS recovery team came and towed our Jeep to the nearest camp for repair.
The mechanics told us that the tube that connects to the brake oil was missing and we could have got into an accident due to the malfunction of the brake.
My abdominal pain got worse as I skipped lunch that day .
I tired all kinds of medicine due to the malfunction of the brake
Poh Ji Pills,Gatric Pills,Eno,Ingestion pills,etc...
Nothing works!
I even went to see the camp MO but he only gave me some useless adominal Painkillers.
I wasn't able to sleep at all ,I was clutching in pain and finally I decided to see the medic again hoping they would send me to the hospital.
They measured my blood pressure and it was really high- Systolic 150,diastolic 90.
(The normal range: Systolic 120,Diastolic 80.)
My wish was granted and I was sent to CGH at 3am in the morning.
The doctor diagnosed me with Gastroenteritis aka Stomach Flu and gave me a Jab.

Gastroenteritis (also known as gastric flu or stomach flu, although unrelated to influenza) is inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, involving both the stomach
and the small intestine and resulting in acute diarrhea. It can be transferred by contact with contaminated food and water.

I was rather surprised as I had stomach flu two weeks ago when I came back from Taiwan.

How could it recurred again?

Seriously! I am sick of falling sick

Oh..October blues

Go away!

Life as we know it.

This week is one of the worst week in my life.
Black Monday
I had to drive the Jeep to the washing area and
I was quite nervous as I hadn't been driving for months.
My Jeep nearly fell through the loop when I was driving it up the slope.
Everyone was screaming when It happened.
Bad Tuesday
I found out that my IPPT result back in July was disqualified due to the malfunction of the Stop Watch.
It failed to capture timing for my 2.4km run which I got a gold standard timing.
There goes my $200.

Dead Wednesday
We are forced to participate in the wrestling competition organized by my unit.
My first event was Tug Wrestling. Each company have to send out 9 guys.
The objective of the game is to get your competitors out of the boundaries like royal rumble.
There was no rules. You can kick ,drag or throw or do anything to eliminate your rivals .
There was four companies representing in the game.
It seems like the 3 brainless rifle companies are out get my company, things got violent and chaotic.
They ganged up on us and it was 3 men against 1 man.
My company was wiped out in a instant.
WZ and I were the last two survivor of my company.
3 crazy guys grabbed me from behind but I managed to break free from their hold,
only to dragged on the ground by other 2 guys .
Before I Knew it,my left ankle got twisted and I was sent to the medial centre.
I couldn't walk for the next two days.
Now I am limping around with a swollen ankle.
My ankle looks like a pig trotter now.

Fine Thursday
Things got a turn when we were given surprise a day off .
Despite limping around with a Pig Trotter,I took this opportunity to chill out.
I went to watch Life as we know it with Alvin.
Katherine Heigl is the next Jennifer Aniston.
Her romantic comedies(Knocked up,27 dresses,The Ugly Truth,The killers) never fails to crack me up .
After the show,Alvin suggested to go for a sheesha session
It was my first time trying it.I felt a little dreamy after smoking it for 2 hours.
I did a little search on Seehsha and found out that
Studies shows that a sheesha smoker may take anywhere from 20 to 200 puffs in one night, and each puff equals about one liter of smoke each. That means one sheesha smoking session could equate to smoking 40 to 400 cigarettes.

Woah I guess I will not be smoking sheesha anything soon.

我爱台北

On our last day in Taiwan, nothing was planned.
It was free and easy for everyone.
Initially I wanted to go 五分埔 to satisfy my shopping crave.
But in the end I dropped the idea and followed my friends to explore other places in taipei.

We took the metro station from Xi Men Ding all the way to Maokong ,
Then,We took Maokong Gondola aka Cable Car to 猫空
It was a 30 min Cable Car ride and it only cost $2 .
Its totally worth it as we can to see breathtaking views of taiwan from the peak.

The two 文杰

Zhinan Temple.
I asked the local why are most of the temples in Taiwan built on the hills?
He told me that its because the cities are too noisy and they needed a peaceful and quiet environment.

Along the way ,We saw local stalls that sells taiwan delights.
Hence,we decided to have a mini feast .
The Fried Wanton
The Kong Ba Rice
Taiwan Sausage and Sticky Rice
Bean curd Dessert-Mixture of Beancurd,ah gaga and pearls.
Taiwan Ninja Van-alot better than the ones in Singapore,
They sell bubble tea and a wide variety of taiwan crusine.
There are over 55 tea houses in Maokong.

The Modern Teahouses
We went to the teahouse that have the best view of the scenery.

and we did what a typical old man would do.
Tea Appreciation.

Next, we took the Metro Train to Taipei 101!!!!
The Metro Station Chip

Since I missed the chance to go up the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai
I decided not to let go of the opportunity again.
I wanted to try the Observatory and see the whole of Taipei from the Sky Scraper.
The ticket price for the Observatory cost around $20.
The Queue was bloody long....
This picture would have cost us $25.
It only takes 39 sec to reach the top -89 Storey,

Almost blown away by the wind.
The Highest Peak of the Tower -91 storey,
We wasn't allowed to go to the highest storey -101.
The roof was 499.2m high.
It used to be the tallest building in the world until it was replaced by Burj Khalifa in Dubai which is 828m high.

What a Magnificent View!
We spent around 30 minute at the observatory .
Its really an eye opener as you get to see Taipei from an bird eye view.

Time to say goodbye to people I met through the course.
I doubt we will see each other any time soon.

Our last meal in Taipei
Japanese Ramen and Bubble Tea.

I gotta say Taiwan lives up to its reputation as a beautiful city.
You will be bewitched by its
Exquisite Sky Scraper,
Delightful Night Markets
Ravishing Shopping Districts,
and Alluring Sceneries.
Not to mention ,everyone are so friendly and considerate there.
They really care for the environment. There are recycle bins everywhere and
We will be punished if we are caught throwing the wrong staff into the bins.
The retailers will not scorn you if you didn't make any purchases .
The local villagers often motivate us by shouting 阿兵哥加油!!! whenever they saw us climbing the hills.
They even offered to give us food and a ride to our destination.
Such warm and kind gesture will not be found in Singapore.
Despite having a tough time during my strenuous training ,I gotta miss Taiwan.
