I missed home,my family and friends badly.

鼓浪屿 Gu lang Yu

I am still down with the irritating flu.
Guess I will still enlist tomorrow
My final post on my Fuzhou Trip.

My mum and I took an 15 min ferry ride to the tourist Island of Xiamen.
-鼓浪屿 Gu lang Yu. It is also known as the Town of Piano
as there is alot of Piano in this tiny little island.



Gu lang Yu 's nursery =looks pretty classy .

Gulangyu Architecture-the westerners used to inhabit in this Island.
That explains why this place is also under the European 's spell.


There is a beautiful beaches with splendid scenery.
I took this opportunity to camwhore....




We also went to the underwater world .
I am skeptical about the standard of underwater world.
As I had a bad experience in the underwater world in shanghai

I am not disappointed this time as
most of the creatures are alive and not fossilized.

Lastly we watched the Animal show.
I was really amused and entertained by the diligent Dolphin and Seals
I just hope that they will be released back to the ocean someday
They should go back to where they belong.



As of 9/7/09 .I no longer live in the Island of Singapore .
I gotta miss you guys!

I just came back from Malaysia.
and I am down with FLU
Maybe I kenna H1N1?HAHA
Hopefully I will recover by Thursday..

Back to my Fuzhou Trip updates.

Met up with other long distance relatives (my grand uncle's daughter 's grandson's family) and had Chong Qing Hotpot for lunch

Went Shopping at Gu Cheng..
There is alot of cheena stuff.
The place is 7 times the size of Bugis street.



Though I am not a Buddhist ,
But I am always fascinated by the Big statues of gods in the temples.


Then I went to Nanputuo Si,<南普陀>
It is a major destination of Buddhists. Situated at the foot of the Five Old Men Peak .The peaceful temple is over 1,000 years old and is Xiamen oldest sight.
My mum is a devout Buddhist mum .She had a great time praying.




The character Fo (佛), into a rock-at 15 feet (4.6meters) .


We took the ferry to Kinmen -
a island that belongs toTaiwan.
I learned about the long history of the bad blood between Taiwan and China.
Kinmen used to be a war zone area.
The Kuomintang fled to Taiwan after the Chinese civil war of 1949.

Next Stop is Hulishan Fort,胡里山炮台
It is touted as China 's best preserved coastal cannon.



The fort also boasts an impressive display of ancient armament.
The massive German-made 60 ton gun is the fort's main attraction .
This place reminds me of the Andy lau movie-The warlords

Liberty

My auntie brought my mum and I to the Sha-La beach.
Its a beautiful and deserted beach.There wasn't much people around.
The perfect weather and the cooling sea breeze made my day!



This beach somehow reminds me of the show Stairway to heaven.

China is really getting more liberal!
As I toured around the country.
I saw some interesting staff,Its a real eye opener!

I saw this plastic surgery advertisement in the cab.
As a biz student I must say the marketing channel for this advertisment is wrong!
HAHA

and Sex-shop do exists in China
but they look like a crappy provision shop.
